the 30-06 springfield.

the 30-06 has been one of the world’s most common hunting rounds in the world, it has also taken almost every type of big game in the world too. its ballistics, cheapness, and plentiful source make it for a good all-round cartridge, to get a nice quality rifle chambered in 30-06 is also only around 500-700$ any lower and you might see problems in them like failure to rack a round in the chamber or the bolt catches on an edge or it’s poorly built. the round was introduced into the united states army in 1906 and saw service as late as the 70s. the m14 witch was a semi-auto rifle chambered in 30-06 is still used in small numbers today by the united states as supplementary rifles or snipers.

The Remington 760 Gamemaster

This gun you may never have heard of or seen. But if you have it’s probably because your grandpa or an older relative has or had one. The Remington 760 gamemaster is a pump-action rifle, that’s right I said pump-action rifle. It shoots 30-06 and has a magazine capacity of 5 rounds. I first heard about this gun from my grandpa when we were talking about good hunting guns. I didn’t believe him at first but when he went downstairs and brought it up I was amazed at what I saw. He said he bought back in 72/ 1972, he was talking about how it was such a reliable rifle and that he’s taken many deer with it and never had a single problem with it. They made this rifle in 1952 and ended the production in 1981, one day I hope he gives me his rifle. As so it would be an honor a memory and a symbol as to why I started hunting.Related imageHere’s a picture of the model 760.

the .243 winchester

The 243 is one of the most popular rifle cartridges in the world. it’s used from pest control all the way to big game hunting. its one of the most accurate rounds and gun ever made and it has for the most part low recoil. which makes it such a great gun for beginners or the youth, its a light rifle depending on what you get, I got a 2002 A bolt browning 243 Winchester and it weighs id say 5lbs, it honestly feels less than that and it has a scope on too. they are extremely fast rounds too, the average 95-100 grain cartridges travel around 2,900-3,000 fps. your lighter rounds for predator or small game like the 55-85 grain rounds travel 3,300-3,900 fps altho much faster it doesn’t carry the weight like the 95-115 grain rounds do which are more effective on big game. it’s widely used around the united states and the united kingdom as for the 243 is the smallest caliber to be used hunting for deer in the UK. and that is wrap, hope you all enjoyed learning a little about this unique gun.

Stalking Deer

Deer stalking is a British term for going after deer on a stealthy level, the intention is to kill for food and sometimes to protect crops from too much damage or to keep populations down. There’s 2 ways of stalking, high ground or level, high ground is when your above your animal that your targeting in this case deer. and its easier than level because there’s most likely gonna be no wind to put your scent in its path and they usually won’t be able to see you because your above them,

Level ground is harder cause your at the same level as your quarry and you have to be extremely patient when your stalking deer usually white-tailed you do it in fields with corn, and mule you do it plains where there’s small little hills to hide behind. Sometimes it could take up to 45 min! just to move a couple feet and the animal could be 70 yards away still! A good range for bowhunters who stalk is in the 15-45 yards for a shot but sometimes you just have to chance it, if a deer is 70 yards away and you want a 30-yard shot, you have to very slowly army crawl on the ground 40 yards which is 120 feet of land to cover! That could take hours of moving inch by inch foot by foot, and you still have to manage to not get spotted, heard, or smelt by the deer, that’s some pretty hard stuff to do but it is possible. there is also, a form of hunting called spot and stalk, its when you find your quarry and follow it until you can get a shot off on it
